Hi learners,
Have you ever thought about the best ways to use ChatGPT or Google Bard for learning?
With the constant emergence of new technologies, it can be challenging to determine which ones are truly worth exploring. I used to be someone who eagerly spent hours delving into new software and platforms, only to realize that most of the time, the investment wasn't worthwhile.
I dabbled with a Crypto Social Network, the metaverse, VR glasses, and various learning platforms, but they rarely had a lasting impact on my life. On the other hand, certain tools like Canva, RoamResearch, or Anki have seamlessly integrated into my workflow over the years.
I'm cautious about recommending specific (and accepting collaboration offers for new tools that aren't time-tested yet). However, there's one tool that has seamlessly integrated into my everyday workflow: AI-powered language models.
I've recently started incorporating them into almost all of my tasks. Today, I want to share how tools like ChatGPT can become your ultimate companion on your learning journey.
Using ChatGPT for Understanding What to Learn
If you're learning a new skill, it can often feel unclear what to focus on. You can use ChatGPT to uncover the sub-skills required to acquire broader skills. Some helpful prompts:
Using ChatGPT for Finding the Best Resources on the Internet
Often times it is hard to find the right resources to achieve your learning goals. Once you have initial clarity about the sub-skills required to master a specific skill, you can start focusing on getting better at one of the sub-skills required. Here are helpful prompts for this stage:
Using ChatGPT for Practice and Feedback
Practice and feedback are two of the most important components of deliberate practice. You can use ChatGPT as your personal feedback coach by using these prompts:
(Nerd level) Using ChatGPT for Writing Better Anki Cards
I'm a huge fan of spaced repetition for remembering anything you want forever. To write better flashcards in Anki (check out this article if you have no idea what I'm talking about) you can use ChatGPT to suggest specific examples for a scenario.
ChatGPT is a game-changer in the realm of lifelong learning. It empowers you to explore vast knowledge, sharpen your skills, and overcome learning barriers like never before. Embrace this revolutionary tool as a supportive mentor on your path to personal and intellectual growth.
Wishing you boundless curiosity and countless breakthroughs.
P.S.: I'm looking for more recommendations when it comes to AI prompts and learning. Drop me a line if you have a prompt in mind :)

✨ What do experts predict about the future of learning and earning?
The report "The Skills Revolution and the Future of Learning and Earning" by McKinsey & Company discusses the need for a new approach to education in the face of rapid technological change. The report argues that traditional education systems are no longer fit for purpose and that new approaches are needed to prepare students for the jobs of the future. One of the implications of the major trends (rise of automation, changing nature of work, increasing importance of softskills) is a focus on lifelong learning: Education should no longer be seen as a one-time event. Instead, it should be seen as a lifelong process. Education systems should provide students with the tools and resources they need to continue learning throughout their lives.
